Project Syllabus - What To Expect For Your VO Project
I am so glad that you have considered Cameron Thomas Voiceovers for your project. If you haven’t heard my audio samples, check them out here. You may be wondering how to get started or what to expect along the way. Just like a college project, this voiceover project syllabus shows are guidelines and steps by which your project is priced, produced, and delivered. So follow this project syllabus for the nuts and bolts to working on your project.
First, let’s get the details of the project which will determine the price. What is the purpose, length, and usage? While some projects are short, say :30-:60 second commercials, they may be for radio or TV and played for various markets. Are they small, local markets, or larger regional/national markets? And how long will they be aired? These factors all determine the price. Many projects are just for the internet. Is it just for a business website or will it be distributed through paid ad campaigns or other channels? Some projects may be explainer or narrations – the longer the project, the longer to record and edit. Perhaps you have multiple scripts, in which case, a bulk rate is possible. Whatever your project details, I am happy to review and discuss a quote right away. Contact me here or send an email to info@cameronthomasvoiceovers.com.
Recording The Voiceover
I am a full-time voiceover so I can work on your project quickly. To get started, please provide any direction on style and pacing that you would like. I am always happy to provide my interpretation but the more direction you offer, the more we can dial in exactly what you prefer. To help narrow this down, I will send along a sample read to confirm your preferences before completing the rest of the project. Direction change requests after the full recording may be subject to re-recording fees.
I will give you an idea of when to expect deliver of your audio so that you can manage your project effectively. In many cases, I can deliver same-day or within a short day or two depending on project length, and I will keep you posted of any scheduling conflicts ahead of time. Depending on project scripts, I provide multiple takes on liners for a little variety. Recordings are done in my World-Voices approved, sound-treated home studio in either high-quality MP3 (16-bit, 48000hz, Mono), WAV, or AIFF formats, through a CAD e100s microphone and Focusrite preamp.
Many projects are recorded on my own so I am able to accommodate live-directed sessions over the phone, Zoom, Source Connect, Skype, or Session Link Pro. Multiple sessions may be subject to additional session fees.
Voice Track Delivery
Audio can be delivered raw or finished with light audio production – I can even add music beds or sound effects for an additional production charge. I will give you an idea of when to expect delivery of your audio which will be by either email, Dropbox, Google Drive, or FTP. Project quotes include revisions and tweaks to your liking. While I review finished audio, any errors on my end that slip through will be corrected at no charge – that is on me! I want to ensure you are satisfied with the final audio so I am happy to revise as much as necessary. If you have minor text changes during recording, that’s fine – I can work those in at no additional cost – I don’t like to nickel and dime folks like that. However, more substantial script changes done after the recording or you or your client sign off, may be subject to re-recording costs depending on the scope of changes.
Invoicing
Once the final approved recording is sent, I will forward a project invoice to be paid in net 30 days. Feel free to pay whichever method is convenient for you – Paypal payments will need to add a processing fee.
My goal is to help you and your project be as successful as possible. As a professional member of the World-Voices Organization, I follow industry best practices to ensure a professional approach to your project. You are my priority and I want to see you cross the finish line in great shape. So go ahead and send me a note below and let’s chat!
